Pediatric Nutrition Consultation and Diabetes Care and Education

Lori Brizee has been working in the field of nutrition for over 36 years.  She started her career by working in public health for 2 years, and then at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center for 20 years. During that time, she became an expert on nutrition for children with special needs, writing, speaking and teaching on many pediatric nutrition concerns.

Lori moved to Bend, Oregon in 2006 and started a private nutrition practice, Central Oregon Nutrition Consultants, serving clients of all ages. At that time, she began working with persons with diabetes, becoming a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist in 2015. Lori closed Central Oregon Nutrition in 2018 and now provides nutrition and diabetes consultation at the office of Erika Beard-Irvine MD Pediatrics in Bend. She teaches nutrition part time at Oregon State University, Cascades and writes and speaks on a variety of nutrition topics. In 20ll, her book, Healthy Choices, Healthy Children, A guide to raising fit, happy kids, was published by Paraclete Press.

Lori is married to Bob Brydges and has two adult children, Suzanne and Michael Brydges. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities with her husband as well as cooking, bread baking and reading.
